Jessie Lee Taylor was brought up in Rockbridge County, earned a degree in Social Work and Spanish from Appalachian State University and journeyed far and wide (Hawaii, Argentina, and other locales) before landing back home in what she knows to be the “unparalleled community” of Lexington.

Jessie follows in her late grandmothers footsteps and began her full time career in real estate in 2020. Her customer base spans everyone from investors, first-time homebuyers and sellers to the more seasoned clients. Jessie currently serves on the board of directors for the Rockbridge Highland Association of Realtors.

In addition to helping people buy and sell homes, Jessie owns several investment properties and is currently renovating an 1800’s cottage.

When not serving her community and clients, Jessie enjoys working with her horses, playing in the great outdoors and as an artist, creating in a variety of mediums— her favorite is making wood-fired pottery alongside her father.

She looks forward to connecting with you and applying her creativity to real estate, in the place she loves most.

Paula Martin became aquainted with Rockbridge County in 1974, when she was driving through the area with a friend. At that time, Paula was living in the Pocono Mountains, PA, in a Yoga Monastery. Paula picked up a copy of The News Gazette — looking for the perfect place to create a branch of the Monastery.

Rockbridge County felt like home to Paula. She moved to the Rockbridge Baths monastery in November of 1989, and has resided in Rockbridge County ever since.

Paula fell in love with Rockbridge County, which makes a career in real estate a joyful one. She loves the Blue Ridge Mountains, the “hometown” of Buena Vista, the college town of Lexington, and the powerful rivers which wind their way across the county. Paula knows every nook and cranny of Rockbridge County. She is never too busy to enjoy the magificent views available in all directions!

Paula appreciates the unique blend of people who have found their way to Rockbridge County — as well as those folks whose families originally settled here. It’s easy to find friends who are like-minded — no matter your background or hobbies.

Paula’s background in Theater and teaching, with an MA in Theatre from Villanova University, allows her to apply her creative energy to serving her clients — be they Sellers or Buyers.

Paula and her huband, Steve, attended numerous Star Power conferences over the years, which helped establish them as Top Producers in the Lexington/BV/Rockbidge Market.

Paula’s clients are her priority. No matter how busy Paula may be in the world of Real Estate, she retains her background in Mindfulness.

Steve, a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has a life that reads like an adventure book with chapters ranging from spiritual to entrepreneurial ventures.

At the young age of 22, Steve’s spiritual curiosity led him to a retreat center in the Pocono Mts. where he spent 12 years exploring yoga and meditation. During that time he also visited India, where he experienced sacred sites and silent sages.

Fast forward to 1989, when Steve, with Paula by his side, decided to relocate to Lexington, Virginia. Together, they opened "Paradise, Gifts of the Spirit," a store that allowed them to meet locals folks and make a lot of new friends.

In 2001, the couple ventured into real estate. Initially, it was about finding investment properties for themselves but they soon discovered their talents were perfect for building a real estate business.

Steve’s love of photography, videography and marketing have helped him to beautifully showcase our properties. Steve also is the person to call with “tech related” issues. In his time off, Steve also enjoys hiking, skiing, motorcycles, playing guitar, live concerts and his dogs!

Steve and Paula’s lifestyle of mindfulness, yoga, and meditation have helped shape their business philosophy. It's about connecting with people, sharing joy, and appreciating the ever present beauty of Rockbridge County.

Carla Henson was born in Lexington, Virginia and raised in Amherst County. She has lived in Rockbridge County all of her adult life. Carla has been married for 30 years with an amazing son. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching crime and drama tv, shopping and playing with all of her spoiled feline-friends.

Carla brings over 30 years of experience in office management to the team. She is responsible for keeping things on schedule and ensuring that each transaction is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Carla is an intricate part of what has made the Paula Martin Team so successful and for making it run as efficiently as it does.
